Tribeca Laser Black Matte: Anastasiya Dubova-Burda’s on-court review

After a few hours on court with the Eterna Tribeca Laser Black Matte, tennis coach and former LSU player Anastasiya Dubova-Burda singled out its smash performance, sound at contact and solid feel. She would recommend considering it for an experienced player, but not for a beginner.

Eterna provided the racket for this filmed test. This article combines the video with Anastasiya’s follow-up voice-message feedback, translated from Ukrainian and edited for clarity.

A lifetime in tennis, a first year in padel

LSU’s official biography
Anastasiya’s profile

Anastasiya has played tennis throughout her life and began playing padel in 2026. She is a tennis coach, a Master of Sport in tennis and a former Louisiana State University player. LSU’s official biography records Ukrainian junior titles in under-14 doubles and under-16 singles.

She tested the Tribeca for a few hours during the shoot, focusing on attacking play and smashes. Her perspective combines extensive tennis experience with a first year of getting to know padel.

The shot that stood out: the smash

“This racket is made for smashes.”

In the filmed session, overhead sequences show Anastasiya preparing under the ball, swinging and following through. In her later feedback, she again highlighted the power she felt when attacking overhead.

She also liked the sound at contact, the response of the ball and the weight in her hand. She described the racket as feeling solid. Those were the sensations that stood out to her during the test.

Who is the Tribeca Laser Black Matte for?

Anastasiya would not recommend this model to a beginner. In her view, a player who already knows how to handle a racket and has experience on court can manage both attack and defence with it. Eterna’s catalogue positions Tribeca as an advanced model with a firm feel and an emphasis on power.

For someone coming from tennis, her experience offers a useful reference: she was new to padel, but brought a lifetime of racket handling to the session. That is a different starting point from being new to racket sports altogether.

Matte depth or glossy shine?

Anastasiya handled both versions of Tribeca Laser Black and liked both. She described the glossy finish as catching the light across the court, while the matte finish impressed her with its depth of black.

Her tennis racket is black too. In the video, she explains that either black finish lets her focus on the ball without the racket distracting her. She does not choose an overall winner. Eterna lists Matte and Glossy with the same construction and playing profile; her comparison concerns their appearance.
