Personalisation works best when the detail feels deliberate: a short message in the right place, clear lettering and enough space around it. The Atelier process begins with an existing racket choice and ends with a design you approve before work starts.
Begin with the racket, then the message
Settle the model and finish before arranging the personal detail. The design should belong to the racket the player wants to use, rather than determine a playing profile by accident. Matte and Glossy editions within each Eterna family share the listed construction, so finish is a visual choice.
For a first idea, write the message in full and then decide what matters most: the person’s name, an important date or a short phrase. A small inscription does not need to tell the entire story.
Let placement do some of the work
The Crown keeps the Eterna Sports lettering and adds a line beneath it. The Signature replaces that lettering. Each can hold up to 15 characters. The two Wings, on the lower playing face beside the monogram, hold up to 8 characters each.
A name and a date can be separated rather than crowded into one line. Check the studio’s limits before deciding on a phrase, and keep the recipient’s spelling intact. The engraving guide explains the standard placements and supported text.
Use previous commissions as references
The Atelier gallery shows examples of names, messages and artwork. They help you judge visual scale and placement. An earlier commission is a reference, not a promise that every design or marking can be reproduced through the standard options.
For a logo or illustration, consider which parts remain readable where the face is perforated. The retail Logo service applies artwork in colour; text is laser-engraved. For a design outside those options, ask for a bespoke proposal that identifies the process and scope.
Check the mock-up in two passes
- Read the content: spelling, initials, dates and punctuation. Ask somebody else to check a gift inscription if you can do so without spoiling the surprise.
- Look at the composition: placement, size, lettering and the relation to the existing markings and holes.
Review the actual emailed approval image rather than relying on memory of the online preview. If a detail is unclear, ask for a revision before approving. Work begins after your confirmation.
Finish the commission with a realistic schedule
The standard service lists three additional working days after approval before dispatch. A bespoke design has its own confirmed schedule, and shipping takes additional time. Tell Eterna about a fixed occasion date at the start.
The cover is included with the racket; the gift box is optional and paid. Once engraving or a logo is applied, the ordinary change-of-mind return no longer applies. The manufacturing-defect warranty remains in place. Start in the personalisation studio when the model and wording are ready.
